Decent service, minor hiccup

I bought a bottle of Single Malt whisky from Lavinia. The ordering process was smooth, and the website has a really good range of spirits. Shipping was pretty standard, arrived in about a week. The whisky itself was great, exactly what I wanted. My only small complaint is that the tracking information wasn't updated very frequently, so I wasn't always sure where my package was. It still arrived fine, but more consistent updates would be an improvement. Overall, a good experience and good value.

Good value, first time buyer

This was my first time ordering from Lavinia. I was looking for a specific Vin de Bordeaux and found it here for a competitive price. I signed up for their newsletter and got a small discount on my first order, which definitely made the purchase feel like a good deal. Shipping wasn't free for my order size, but the overall cost was still better than what I could find locally. The bottle arrived safely and was exactly what I expected. I felt like I got good value for my money and would definitely check their prices first next time I'm buying wine.

Awesome selection, loved it!

I just bought a couple of bottles of Champagne millésimé for a special occasion and I am so pleased! The selection on the site is just incredible, so many great choices. My order arrived perfectly packaged, no worries about anything breaking. The Champagne tasted fantastic, really made the evening. I'm already looking forward to my next order because their range of Rhum is also calling my name! Definitely recommending Lavinia to all my friends.

Good selection, solid delivery

I ordered a few bottles, including a Vin de Bourgogne and a Vin bio. The website was easy to navigate and I found what I wanted pretty quickly. Delivery took about 5 days to reach Denver, which was reasonable given it was coming from Europe. Packaging was super secure, no issues with breakage at all, which I appreciate. I did have a question about one of the tasting notes, and customer support got back to me within a day with a helpful answer. The quality of the wine was exactly as expected. I'm happy with this purchase and would use them again for harder-to-find European wines.

Between Lavinia and Millésima, which one's better for finding unique French wines, especially organic or biodynamic options?

D David R. 2 months ago
Lavinia has a huge selection, like 6000 wines, and they specifically list organic and biodynamic options, which is cool. I've found some really niche stuff there.

Millésima is good too, but I feel like Lavinia might have a slight edge on the smaller, more 'natural' wine producers. Both are great though, depends on what you're looking for really.

Is Lavinia legit? Like, are their wines actually genuine, or could I end up with fakes, especially for the high-end stuff?

G Gwen Z. 1 month ago
They're a big, well-known European retailer. Very reputable. I've bought some really nice Bordeaux from them and never had any doubts.

Definitely legit. They focus on quality producers and have a physical store in Paris, so they're not some fly-by-night operation.

Does Lavinia have any good sales right now? Like, I'm hoping for something decent, not just a couple bucks off.

J June 2 months ago
They usually have a 'Foire aux Vins' sale a couple times a year, with up to 30% off. Keep an eye out for that. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter, you usually get a discount code for your first order.

Not sure about sales right now, but check their 'Private Sales' section. Sometimes there are hidden gems there. I got a great deal on a Rhone blend last time.

Can you use more than one promo code on Lavinia at checkout? Trying to stack a welcome deal with something else.

D Dana G. 2 months ago
Nah, pretty sure you can only use one code at a time. Most online stores are like that.
6
B Beth K. 2 months ago
I tried it once and it didn't work. It usually says in the terms that codes can't be combined, especially with items already on sale.

What's the return policy like if a bottle is corked? Do they make it a huge hassle?

B Brett M. 2 months ago
I haven't had to return a corked bottle myself, but their FAQ mentions you can return them. I imagine it's pretty straightforward for a reputable place like this.

C Chris T. 2 months ago
Heard from a friend who had a corked bottle that they were pretty good about it. Just contact their support and they'll sort it out, I think you need proof though.

Hey, thinking about ordering some wine from Lavinia, but I live in Chicago. Anyone know if they actually deliver to the US, specifically Illinois?

P Phil L. 1 month ago
Yeah, they do. I'm in California and got a shipment last month. It took a bit longer than I expected though, probably because of customs.

M Mia 1 month ago
They say on their site they ship internationally, so I imagine Chicago is fine. Just be prepared for potential import duties on top of the shipping costs.

Has anyone bought from Lavinia before? Are their bottles packed well for shipping? Worried about breakage on a long trip.

N Nick 2 months ago
They pack really well. Each bottle is usually in its own padded slot. I've never had a broken one, even for magnum sizes.

F Faith Reyes 2 months ago
Yeah, their packaging is solid. Way better than some other places I've ordered from. No worries there.

Wondering about the delivery time for Lavinia. Need a bottle for a gift next week, so kinda time-sensitive. Does it really take long to get to, say, New York?

D David L. 2 months ago
To NYC, I'd say give it at least 5-7 business days, maybe more with customs. Don't count on 24-hour delivery from Europe, even if they mention it for France.

Mine took about 10 days to the East Coast, but it was during a busy period. If it's urgent, probably best to check with their customer service directly.
